Vidective AI is a tool that finds a specific moment inside a video for you. Paste a YouTube link or upload your own video file, describe what you're looking for in plain English, and Vidective tells you exactly when it happens.
No. You can try Vidective right away without signing up. Creating a free account just gives you more searches per day and unlocks Timestamped mode.
Paste a YouTube link or upload a video file, type a description of what you want to find, and press Find Events. Vidective reads through the video and shows you the results.
Both work the same way from your side. YouTube links are usually faster because Vidective can often read the video's transcript. Uploaded files are analyzed frame by frame, which also lets you download clips afterward.
Common formats like MP4, MOV, and WebM all work. If a file won't upload, try converting it to MP4 first.
You describe what you're looking for, such as a person, an action, a topic, or a specific line someone said. Vidective checks the video's transcript, audio, and frames, and returns the exact timestamp of every place it finds a match.
Almost anything: a person, an object, an action, a topic being discussed, a specific quote, an event, or even a mood. The more specific your description, the better the results.
Vidective gives each result a confidence score so you can see how sure it is about a match. Clear, specific descriptions of well defined moments tend to get the most accurate results.
A higher score means Vidective is more confident that the moment matches your description. If a result has a low score, it's worth checking it yourself before relying on it.
Yes. Attach a reference photo of a face, object, or scene, and Vidective will find every moment in the video where that exact thing appears.
Yes. Vidective looks through the whole video and returns every matching moment it finds, not just the first one.
For uploaded videos, once Vidective finds a moment, you can generate a clip of it right in your browser and download it. No editing software needed.

Try describing the moment differently or more specifically. If a video has no clear transcript or very poor audio and video quality, some moments can be harder to detect.
Uploaded videos and long videos take longer to analyze because Vidective is checking the actual frames and audio. YouTube videos with a transcript are usually much faster.
This can happen if the video link is invalid, the file is too large, or you've reached your daily search limit. The message on screen will tell you which one it is.
Yes, Vidective works in any modern mobile browser.
No. Uploaded videos are analyzed and then deleted right away. Nothing is kept on our servers.
Yes. Sign in is handled by Supabase using industry standard security, and we only store the minimum account information needed to run the app. See our Privacy and Security page for full details.
